Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a number of missiles," it added.

It said wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
