Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through select stations covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season and after recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games were the number of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

However it proved positive to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome the shortfall before lead three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the top defender with CB Pat Surtain II. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver prevailed in that contest.

They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always rushing extra defenders but they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show that the Broncos might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while recent running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows that Denver represent a team that wants to run first, because you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in positive situations.

It's also benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass all over, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, being able to throw while moving, as well as using different arm angles to make throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you constantly rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and if you have a mobile QB the defense has to defend the field vertically and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games at times and I think Payton appreciates that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback that is kind of like moldable clay. The coach can really develop him how he desires to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

Payton owns a championship and has passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is mostly due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps shape him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They excel at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win any game.

Ever since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the first team to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the West.

It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
