Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
